Case-Mate Tough iPhone 6 Plus Case (Black) Review

By Tuan Do

As the new Apple iPhone 6 Plus is prone to bending and it is not bendable like the LG G Flex, using a case on the phone is mandatory. Case-Mate is a very well-known manufacturer of mobile accessories and today we are going to take a look at the Case-Mate Tough iPhone 6 Plus Case.

Overview Video

Design and Protection

The Case-Mate case is available in black only, the color doesn’t really match my gold iPhone 6 Plus but it looks much better on the space grey version. It features a dual-layered design with a tough ABS plastic shell and a shock-absorbing inner silicone layer. I’ve used some dual-layered case but this could be the slimmest ever.

As the iPhone 6 Plus is very thin, I don’t have any problem using this case and I’m also more confident that my iPhone could avoid the bendgate issue. Besides, the back of this case features a stylish textured finish, it absolutely can’t look as sleek as the back panel of the iPhone 6 Plus but it provides better grip and resists fingerprints. The iPhone 6 Plus is huge and slippery when you hold it with one hand, so this design is very important to avoid permanent damages on your phone.

Last but not least, the case doesn’t affect your usage experience as it has cutouts on camera, speaker and ports, and there are good looking button overlays on the volume controls and Sleep/Wake button.

Overall, I think this is a solid case for iPhone 6 Plus. It is not a gorgeous case but it looks good enough, particularly on the space grey version. It is available for around $40 on MobileFun or $21 on Amazon, we totally recommend this product.
